KGI Life's 11-Year Blood Drive Tops Two Million c.c.

6/25/2026

Eleven summers in, KGI Life Insurance's nationwide blood drive has passed the two-million-c.c. mark. With high temperatures and weeks of rain running Taiwan's blood banks low, Chairperson Alan Wang and President Yu-Ling Kuo, and other senior executives of KGI Life rolled up their own sleeves to lead this year's campaign. President Yu-Ling Kuo noted that the core value of insurance, mutual assistance and protection in times of need, is fully aligned with the spirit of donating blood.

The campaign took on a green tint this year. At the Taipei session, the Company teamed up with a local revitalization organization and a farmers' cooperative that protects the farmland green treefrog (Zhangixalus arvalis), running ecolog and produce stalls that showed employees how everyday shopping can support biodiversity. KGI Life has supported the cause by funding ecological research on the treefrog in Dalin, Chiayi since 2025, and purchasing bamboo shoots with a habitat-friendly label for the staff cafeteria.

A longtime partner of the Taiwan Blood Services Foundation, KGI Life times its drives to ease the summer shortage. The Foundation points out that one bag of whole blood, once processed into red blood cells, plasma, and platelets, can help three patients with different medical needs, and it thanked the insurer for 11 years of support. Many employees are now regular donors. They even volunteered under the sun to bring passers-by on board. As a thank-you, the Company sourced refreshments from the local revitalization organization, lending a hand along the way.
