KGIL Upgrades Accessibility at Customer Service Centers

7/16/2026

KGI Life has completed accessible environment certification across all three of its customer service centers, extending a commitment to treating customers fairly and to equitable access to financial services that the Company’s Board of Directors has driven down to the front line. The Taipei center received a five-star accessible environment certification from the Duofu Barrier-Free Life and Transportation Development Association in June 2025, and the Taoyuan-Hsinchu and Kaohsiung centers have since earned the same recognition.

President Yu-Ling Kuo, independent directors Shih-Chieh Chang and Wei-Chuan Kao, and members of the management visited the Taipei center to test its accessible facilities in person. The center approached its accessibility retrofits from the user’s point of view, with specialists from associations representing people with hearing, visual, and mobility impairments conducting field tests. Wheelchair users joined the directors on the latest walkthrough.

Kuo said the directors’ visit both encouraged the service team and signaled how seriously the Company takes the needs of diverse customers. KGI Life will continue to advance financial accessibility and aims to set an industry benchmark for accessbility. Chang and Kao told frontline staff that financial accessibility depends on consistent commitment from senior management and delivery at the counter. The inspection covered knee clearance at service counters, sturdy grab rails that help older customers stand, circulation space in accessible restrooms, braille tactile maps, slim stair handrails, and anti-slip reflective strips.

Beyond the hardware, everyone from the Board to frontline staff has taken accessibility and inclusion training, and KGI Life led its peers in drawing up a service guide for older customers and customers with disabilities. One wheelchair user who joined the walkthrough said traditional counters at financial institutions had often left wheelchair users outside. At the Taipei center, he said, the accessible service counter let a wheelchair roll straight in at a workable desk height, and staff guidance was warm and proactive — which made him feel genuinely respected and understood.
