KGIL’s President and Directors Endorse World Dementia Month

Sep 12, 2024

Taiwan will become a super aged society by 2025 and the number of people living with dementia has been climbing. According to the latest survey by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, by 2031, there will be more than 470,000 people with dementia. KGIL adheres to the principles of treating customers fairly and the visions of sustainable co-prosperity. The Company has worked with the Taiwan Alzheimer’s Disease Association to proactively promote financial friendly measures for dementia patients and is a supporter of World Dementia Month Exhibition. Led by KGIL’s president, Yu-Ling Kuo, three independent directors, Jason Tsai, Shih-Chieh Chang, and Sin-Hui Yen as well as other senior executives attended the event to sympathize with the elderly and those who live with dementia, demonstrating KGIL’s commitment to implement dementia friendly measures.

Dementia affects not only personal health but also surrounding family members and the society. KGIL’s employees have all completed dementia friendliness trainings. Furthermore, agency offices and service counters across Taiwan have joined the network of dementia friendly centers. Looking forward to the social development trends, KGIL has launched dementia care insurance product with four upgraded protections to help people prepare in advance should they unfortunately develop dementia in the future.

With the vision of “treating customers fairly and empathetically as we would ourselves” in mind, KGIL will continue to provide financial friendly services for the elderly and dementia patients to realize sustainable development goals (SDGs) put forward by the United Nations (the UN), Goal 3: Good health and well-being and Goal 10: Reduced inequalities. We hope that, through this event, we can raise public’s awareness toward dementia, respond to SDGs set by the UN for co-prosperity, and exert our influence as an insurance company to bring stability onto the society.
