In the face of urban-rural development imbalance, KGI Life fulfills its mission of exerting sustainability influence by investing the regional revitalization movement with human capital. The Company launches the local youth cultivation class to inject resources to the colleges and universities located in the preferential areas of regional revitalization promotion programs. Working with four schools, including Tungnan University, Southern Taiwan University of Science, Dayeh University and Technology and Tajen University this year, the Company initiates the class with a combination of financial education and regional revitalization economy. It helps the students construct accurate financial concepts and risk awareness, so as to learn opportunities of local innovation, and achieve the goal of promoting balanced development.
KGI Life SEVP Eric Su said, “We are responsible and capable of making positive impacts on the society”. Since 2019, the government has proactively promoted the regional revitalization policy, aiming to alleviate such problems as urban overconcentration and urban-rural imbalance. KGI Life and CDF have also continued investing in social participation by promoting urban-rural balanced development and supporting regional revitalization.
In contrast to the colleges and universities in the urban area, schools in the rural area are more in need of enterprise resource input. According to a survey, students in the rural area more likely need to work part-time to cover their tuition and living expense. KGI Life has noticed this social phenomenon for a long time, therefore it forms a coaching team comprising professionals in the Company and regional revitalization institutions to promote the local youth cultivation class. In that class, students are inspired with diverse perspectives and nurtured for local development potential through lectures, personal career experience sharing, group discussion, corporate visits and the group presentation competition.
Human capital is the most important and treasured resource to KGI Life. The composition of the coaching team reflects how KGI Life values the importance of diversity and complementary professionalism. KGI Life Chief Strategy Officer EVP Robbin Hsu noted, “The coaching team comprises outstanding business supervisors, the professionals from various departments in the head office, as well as the founders and employees in local startups. In addition to professionalism, we weighs up more about their passion for social participation in the process of coach selection”.
The establishment of the local youth cultivation class has responded several SDGs, including SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. We not only expect to become a leader in the area of financial education, but also want to create a sustainable model with inspirational education practices and local economic development supports. KGI Life looks forward to inspiring various innovative thinking through social participation, exerting sustainability influence by working with various parties, and creating happiness for all stakeholders.
