KGI Life has won one gold and one silver award at the 2026 Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards (TSAA), its fourth consecutive year of recognition. The awards are organized by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy to honor concrete action on the UN SDGs.
The gold award, under SDG 11 for sustainable cities and communities, recognized its typhoon emergency relief initiative. During recovery in Guangfu Township, Hualien, KGI Life developed Taiwan's first group insurance program for volunteers in 48 hours. Approved by the regulator as a pilot, the policy named the Ministry of Health and Welfare as policyholder and extended accidental death and disability coverage to more than 27,000 volunteer visits by temporary and self-mobilized helpers. KGI Life donated all premium proceeds to the Ministry's Disaster Relief Foundation to support reconstruction, creating a model that combines protection, recovery and community resilience. The experience also prompted the industry to establish a standing mechanism for volunteer insurance, speeding up frontline protection in future disasters.
The silver award, under SDG 10 for reduced inequalities, recognized the Company's work on equitable access to financial services. Directors, senior executives and frontline staff have taken experiential courses on a range of disabilities, and KGI Life became Taiwan's first insurer to publish an Accessible Service Guide for Customers with Disabilities. Its Taipei, Taoyuan-Hsinchu and Kaohsiung customer service centers have all been certified for their accessibility with Taipei winning the top five-star rating while it continues improving accessibility across three digital platforms.
KGI Life held 26 tailored financial and anti-fraud education sessions for persons with disabilities in 2025, part of more than 60 sessions reaching nearly 3,000 participants over three years. It will continue to pursue measurable sustainability actions based on its digital, innovation, sustainability and finance strategies.
