KGI Life has earned dual national recognition for its "Hualien Guangfu Township Aid Volunteer Group Insurance," honored by two central government agencies simultaneously: the prestigious "Special Contribution Award" from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) and a certificate of appreciation from the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW). This achievement underscores KGI Life's commitment to innovation and social responsibility, marking a breakthrough in inclusive finance while actively practicing "Major Financial Giveback" to fortify the social safety net.
During the award ceremony, FSC Chairperson Peng Jin-lung commended KGI Life, noting that while financial performance is vital for long-term operations, a sustained commitment to society is paramount. He praised KGI Life for stepping up in a short time, prioritizing social responsibility over profit, and embodying the financial sector's value in building social trust through concrete actions.
KGI Life President Kuo Yu-ling expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, "During the disaster relief, we constantly asked ourselves, 'What else can KGI Life do?' From providing supplies and volunteers to offering insurance coverage and donating to reconstruction efforts, we aim to contribute to social stability with every critical action."
Following the devastation of Typhoon Ragasa in Hualien, KGI Life identified a protection gap for frontline volunteers in Guangfu Township. The Company immediately mobilized cross-departmental collaboration, completing product structure, planning, and compliance review to launch Taiwan's first "Hualien Guangfu Township Aid Volunteer Group Insurance" within 48 hours. The project went live during the 2025 Double Ten holiday with the assistance of the FSC, the MOHW, and the Central Forward Coordination Post. KGI Life further pledged to donate all premiums from this project to the MOHW for disaster reconstruction, creating a positive cycle of "Major Financial Giveback."
This initiative exemplifies a successful public-private partnership and redefines the financial sector's active role as a stabilizing force during major disasters. Upholding its "We Share We Link" core belief, KGI Life remains committed to innovation and sustainability, ensuring insurance continues to safeguard society.
