Effortless Comprehension – China Life Launches Industry’s First Plain Language Movement

Have you ever looked into an insurance, but found it difficult to understand all the complex wording and terminology of those minuscule writings on DMs? China Life adopts a customer-centric approach and places emphasis on the policyholders’ needs, rights, and interests. To help the public better understand their own protection needs, starting from 2022, China Life has enlarged the wording of its product DMs, making them easier to read. In 2023, the Company took things to the next level and used the U.S.E.R. principle (Understanding, Simple & Easy, Readability) to promote plain language movement, including industry-first simplication of insurance fine-prints. DMs are written in plain language and have visual images to help people better understand products. Furthermore, a straight-forward product description page is put on the Company website. The goal of these measures is to help our clients fully understand their protection needs as well as making them easier to find the most suitable insurance product for themselves and their family.
