KGI Life Directors Experience Multi-Disability Challenges to Advance Financial Inclusivity

Sep 8, 2025

KGI Life is deepening its commitment to financial inclusivity by arranging a comprehensive education and experiential training session for its entire Board of Directors. This initiative aligns with the spirit of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

The training, co-organized with accessibility service pioneer Duofu Care & Service, focused on the needs of elderly individuals and people with diverse disabilities. Directors actively participated in multi-disability simulations, including navigating in wheelchairs, and experiencing visual and hearing impairments. Independent Director Kung Tien-Hsing, for example, wore special equipment to simulate joint stiffness, highlighting the significant challenges of simple acts like walking just ten meters. Other directors found operating digital devices under simulated blurred vision and hand stiffness underscored the difficulties faced by the elderly and disabled in the digital age. This first-hand experience is crucial for understanding pain points and refining service design to be more convenient, secure, and inclusive.

KGI Life led the industry in implementing the “Friendly Service Guide for Elderly and Dementia Customers in the Insurance Industry,” consulting with the Taiwan Alzheimer’s Disease Association to incorporate professional dementia-friendly communication skills. Furthermore, KGI Life pioneered the “Audio Recording and Playback Bots Service,” which adjusts the system as needed during video or audio recording for senior policyholders, ensures accurate information transmission while maintaining the convenience of digital insurance.

KGI Life believes financial friendliness is more than just improving service procedures; it is about supporting an equal and secure life for everyone. The Company will continue to use innovative thinking and practical actions to ensure all customers enjoy equal access to financial services.
