KGI Life Donates Full Premium from Exclusive Volunteer Insurance to Hualien Reconstruction Efforts

Oct 14, 2025

Upholding the belief that the financial industry should be a force for good in society, KGI Life has announced it will donate the full premium equivalent of its exclusive Group Volunteer Insurance for Hualien Guangfu Township to the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) to support ongoing disaster reconstruction.

Following the devastation caused by Typhoon Ragasa, KGI Life was the first and only domestic insurer to exclusively underwrite the specialized group insurance for volunteers assisting in Guangfu Township, starting October 10. This initiative was launched in collaboration with the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) and the MOHW.

The unique insurance plan, with the MOHW as the policyholder, provides NT$1 million in coverage for accidental death and disability. Beneficiaries include machinery operators, drivers, and other volunteers mobilized and dispatched by central government agencies or recruited by the central forward command post (FCP) for post-disaster recovery efforts. This measure aims to mitigate risks for frontline workers and their families.

KGI Life’s commitment extends beyond policy provision. Guided by its "We Share We Link" corporate culture, the Company’s local teams have actively participated in volunteer work, including clearing mud and debris. This action reinforces its strategic focus on embodying the essential value of insurance—protecting people and social security.

Furthermore, KGI Life has a deep commitment to Hualien, having partnered with the Hualien County Government for nine consecutive years to provide microinsurance. This long-term program has extended basic coverage to approximately 72,000 disadvantaged residents in the region.

Moving forward, KGI Life will continue to innovate in customer service and leverage its professional expertise to drive financial philanthropy, injecting positive energy into society when it is most needed.
