Most blood banks in Taiwan are running alarmingly low. Out of care for the society, KGIL has held blood drives for nine years. In 2024, starting from May, blood drives have been held in Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Chiayi, Tainan, and, Kaohsiung. The Company has called on employees to roll up their sleeves for good cause. In the past nine years, around 1.7 million c.c. of blood was collected. This year was not only the first time that KGIL hosted a blood drive under its name but also the first collaboration between KGIL, KGIB, and KGIS in response to blood donation call, a concerted effort to contribute to our health system.
According to the WHO, on average, one blood donation can save three lives. Furthermore, regular blood donation not only helps others but also comes with some health benefits. For example, after donation, platelets will make blood faster and blood metabolism accelerates. As a result, the body retires aging red blood cells faster with new ones that have better oxygen-carrying capacity.
KGIL promotes “You Donate, I Support” model by collaborating with ABRAZO, a charity brand launched by the Down Syndrome Foundation. The Company purchased snack boxes hand packaged by people with Down syndrome as a gift for donors. This method not only draws more people to show up but also supports kids with Down Syndrome, the mentally-, and physically-challenged learning how to be independent by happily working in a charitable shop. This example demonstrates our care for the society. KGIL cares what matters to you and our mission is to help you achieve your happiness in life. We will continue working toward the goal of “the most recommended and trustworthy life insurance company.”
