China Life is the First Insurer to Help New Residents Become Financially Empowered

According to National Immigration Agency, the population size of new residents in Taiwan is as big as that of indigenous people. The total population size is more than a million if the children of new residents are added in, making them an important demographic group in Taiwan. However, in day-to-day life or when applying for financial services, these new residents oftentimes face language barrier. In order to clear this communication hurdle standing between them and the financial/insurance information they need, China Life put in a three-pronged approach that focuses on optimizing customer service, catering to the needs of different groups, and increasing insurance awareness. China Life is the first in the industry to provide “Real Person Multilingual Interpretation Service” (Note 1) and held “Financial Literacy Training for Interpreter and Anti-fraud Seminar”. In addition, the Company launched a multilingual animated video for insurance knowledge (Note 2) and an easy-to-understand rights and interests reminder poster for all policyholders (Note 3). These measures were rolled out with the aim to help new residents become more financially literate and ultimately realize financial inclusion.
